Usb vid_138a&pid_003f&rev_0104 09:50 AM Please explain why this driver is not readily accessible when one selects the drivers for this model of HP laptop, or, for that matter, any other model of HP laptop.
I'm trying to get the Microscan MS-4X scanner working on IoT Core on the Raspberry Pi 3. It's an HID device that can either emulate a keyboard or function as an HID device with a 'vendor-defined' usage. The scanner works on a regular Windows 10 machine, as well as on the Raspbian OS on the Pi. When plugged into the Pi running IoT Core, the device is clearly getting some power because one of its blue LED's turns on; however, it doesn't work as a keyboard or an HID, and it does not show up anywhere in the OS. The device does not enumerate on the startup page. It does not show up in the Device Portal Device Manager or the text file you can download from that page.
Greetings, I get a system notification message as follows: 'This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port. For a list of available port, click here.' When I connect a USB 2.0 device (in this case a USB flash disk) to a USB 2.0 hub. If I remove the hub and connect the device in the same port on my laptop I don't receive the message. I have tried various different USB 2.0 devices and have the same problem. If you delete all the USB items from your Device Manager and let XP 'rediscover' them, the chances are slim that you will get the drivers you need. When you reboot and XP rediscovers the USB devices, you will get the drivers that XP thinks you need.
That is why such advice is generally shortsighted and never seems to some out with a happy ending. You need to figure out what devices you have installed or if you can tell the manufacturer (from msinfo32) go to the and get th drivers they say you need. Now, Loyalty1st, if you want to post up your msinfo32 info maybe we can help figure your situation out: If you are seeing a message like this: This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port. For a list of available ports, click here. It is an informational message and not an error message. You can see if you can actually fix it, or you may decide to just disable messages from your USB device and never see the message again. If you disable the USB reporting mechanism, you will not see any other messages from the USB devices either.
Disabling the reporting mechanism counts as 'fixing' to some folks, but not to me. It would make more sense to actually fix it instead of just disabling the reporting mechanism. Let's see what you have right now: Open Device Manager, by clicking Start, Run and in the box enter:%SystemRoot% system32 devmgmt.msc Click OK. Do you see any red Xs or yellow?s in the list of devices and if so, in what sections?
Now expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section and look for the words: Enhanced Host Controller or Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller Here is an example screen shot of what to look for in your Device Manager: Do you see the word Enhanced in any sections under the Universal Serial Bus controllers section? If you do not see the word Enhanced, you probably just need to update your USB device drivers. Until you do, you will continue to see the annoying reminder message.
If you would like another set of eyeballs on your information to see what you have, do this: Click Start, Run and in the box enter: msinfo32 Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here. For USB port information, expand the Components section, click USB, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then past he information back here. There will be some personal information (like System Name and User Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted information.

Now, Loyalty1st, if you want to post up your msinfo32 info maybe we can help figure your situation out: If you would like another set of eyeballs on your information to see what you have, do this: Hi Joselbarra, Thanks for your reply and the detailed information for Loyalty1st, which as you would see from my initial post, I also supplied the msinfo32 info for USB components & system details, without any luck. In my situation, there is no doubt that I have USB enhanced host controllers, because if I connect a device directly into the usb port, the device works at high speed, if I connect it into one of the many USB 2.0 Hubs that I have, I receive the message and the device functions at low speed (v1.1). I have already installed the latest device drivers from the Acer web site, but they still didn't function with the USB hub. I have installed USBVeiw and SiSoftware Sandra, when I connect the USB hub it connects to the standard 'Universal Host Controller', if I connect the High speed USB device directly into the same USB port ( not the Hub), the 'Enhanced Host Controller' take control and functions at high speed. A reasonable reply would be to say that I have a faulty USB Hub, but I have tried 5-6 different USB Hubs, all have failed to function as claimed (High Speed USB 2.0). Do you have any futher help, tips or suggestions that I could try?
